Membership

What does the monthly membership cover?

Your primary care: office visits, calls, texts and video visits with Dr. Bennett, annual wellness exams, care for chronic conditions, sick and injury visits, and many in-office procedures. Members also get labs and many generic medications at close to wholesale cost.

When does Peak Health open?

When Dr. Bennett completes his active-duty Army service. The date is announced to the waitlist first.

How much will it cost?

Membership is a flat monthly fee based on age. Prices will be posted on the pricing page before the practice opens.

Does joining the waitlist commit me to anything?

No. There is no payment and no obligation. It means you hear first and are offered a membership spot first.

Do you see children and older adults?

Family medicine covers every age. Details on family pricing will be posted before opening.

Is the meet-and-greet really free?

Yes. The meet-and-greet is a no-cost conversation to see whether Peak Health fits you, before you pay anything.

How long is the first visit?

As long as it needs to be. The first visit is intentionally long so we can cover your history, your habits and your goals.

Should I bring my records?

Yes, if you have them: recent labs, notes from other doctors, and a list of your medications and supplements.

Insurance

Is this health insurance?

No. Direct primary care is a membership with your doctor. It does not cover hospital stays, surgery, specialists or emergencies, and it is not a substitute for insurance.

Can I keep my insurance?

Yes, and most members should. You can use insurance for specialists, imaging, hospital care and prescriptions alongside your membership. Many members pair DPC with a high-deductible health plan.

Do you bill insurance or Medicare?

Peak Health does not bill insurance, TRICARE or Medicare. That is what keeps visits long and prices plain. Details for Medicare patients will be posted before opening.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Starting in 2026, federal law lets you pay a direct primary care membership from a health savings account if the fee is no more than $150 a month for an individual or $300 for a family (2026 limits, adjusted yearly). Check with your HSA administrator or tax advisor about your own account.

Care

How do I reach Dr. Bennett?

Members call, text or video Dr. Bennett directly. There is no phone tree.

What happens in an emergency?

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Direct primary care does not replace emergency care.

What if I need a specialist, imaging or a hospital?

Dr. Bennett coordinates the referral, shares what the specialist needs, and helps you find fair cash prices or use your insurance, whichever costs you less.

Can I text Dr. Bennett instead of going to urgent care?

Members will be able to call or text Dr. Bennett directly, and many everyday problems can be handled the same day, sometimes with just a message or photo.

What if I need care while I'm traveling?

Use a local urgent care or emergency room as needed, then message Dr. Bennett so he can follow up and keep your record complete.

Can you stitch cuts and set simple fractures?

Many cuts can be stitched and many simple fractures splinted or cast in the office. Serious injuries belong in the emergency room.

Do you treat sports injuries?

Yes. Sprains, strains, simple fractures, cuts that need stitches and joint injections can often be handled in the office, and Dr. Bennett coordinates imaging, physical therapy or a specialist when you need one. Serious injuries belong in the emergency room.

Can you help me train, not just treat injuries?

Yes. Members get personal exercise prescriptions, including Zone 2 cardio and strength training plans built around their goals and events.

Do I need to be an athlete to join?

Not at all. Peak Health is family medicine for everyone. Active patients simply get a doctor who understands training and wants to keep them moving.

About DPC

Is Peak Health open now?

Not yet. Peak Health opens in Colorado Springs after Dr. Bennett's Army service ends. Join the waitlist to hear first.

Is direct primary care the same as concierge medicine?

They are similar, but DPC usually costs much less and does not bill insurance at all. Concierge practices often charge a large annual fee and also bill your insurance for visits.

Does a DPC practice bill my insurance for visits?

Peak Health does not. Direct primary care practices are paid by their members, not by insurance. Many concierge practices, by contrast, charge a retainer and also bill insurance.

Is direct primary care only for wealthy patients?

No. DPC memberships are usually priced to be affordable for everyday families, because there is no insurance billing to pay for.

Military and TRICARE

Does TRICARE pay for a DPC membership?

No. Peak Health does not bill TRICARE, and TRICARE does not pay the monthly fee. Your TRICARE coverage stays in place for specialists, hospital care, imaging and prescriptions.

Can active-duty service members join?

Active-duty members are enrolled in TRICARE Prime, and their military primary care manager is responsible for their care and readiness, so DPC is generally not the right fit for them. Their family members may join.

I'm on TRICARE Prime. What should I check first?

Prime routes care through your assigned primary care manager. Before joining, ask your TRICARE regional contractor how referrals and any point-of-service costs would work in your situation.

Can veterans keep their VA care?

Yes. You can keep VA health care and have a DPC membership. The VA does not pay the membership fee.

Families

Do children need their own membership?

Family pricing will be posted before opening. Children join with a parent or guardian who is a member.

Can you do sports and school physicals?

Yes. Sports and school physicals are part of membership for children and teens.

Employers

How do employers pay for DPC?

Usually as a flat monthly fee per employee. Small business rates will be set before Peak Health opens.

Can DPC work with our existing group health plan?

Yes. A DPC membership can sit alongside a group plan, pair with a high-deductible plan, or stand on its own. Talk with your benefits advisor about the best structure.

I'm self-employed. Is DPC worth it with a high-deductible plan?

Often, because everyday care and labs that would count toward your deductible are covered by the membership or available at close to cost.
