Getting started
What to expect at your first visit
How joining Peak Health will work, from the first conversation to your personal plan.
Key takeaways
- It starts with a free meet-and-greet, before you pay anything.
- The first visit is a long one. Bring your medications, records, home readings and questions.
- You leave with a written plan, including your own diet, exercise and sleep prescriptions.
Peak Health isn't open yet. It opens in Colorado Springs after my Army service ends. When it does, this is how I plan to welcome new members.
1. A free meet-and-greet
Before you pay anything, we'll talk. You can ask how the practice works, what's included and how I'd approach your health. I'll ask about your goals. If it isn't a good fit, there's no cost and no pressure.
2. Your first visit is a long one
Your first appointment is where we build your foundation. Expect to talk through:
- Your medical history, family history, medications and allergies
- How you eat, move and sleep, and what gets in the way
- Your goals, whether that's running a race, coming off a medication or keeping up with your kids
- Any screening, labs or vaccines you're due for
I'd rather spend the time up front than rush, so this visit runs as long as it needs to.
3. What to bring
- A list of your medications and supplements, or the bottles themselves
- Recent lab results and records from other doctors, if you have them
- Home blood pressure or glucose readings, and your fitness tracker data if you use one
- Your questions, written down
4. Your personal plan
You'll leave with a plan written for you, including your own diet, exercise and sleep prescriptions. You can preview them now: the diet prescription, the exercise prescription and the sleep prescription.
5. After that, reach me when you need me
From then on, you can call, text or video me directly, and you can be seen quickly when something comes up. We'll check in on your plan regularly and adjust it as you go.
Questions about getting started
Does joining the waitlist commit me to anything?
No. There is no payment and no obligation. It means you hear first and are offered a membership spot first.
Is the meet-and-greet really free?
Yes. The meet-and-greet is a no-cost conversation to see whether Peak Health fits you, before you pay anything.
How long is the first visit?
As long as it needs to be. The first visit is intentionally long so we can cover your history, your habits and your goals.
Should I bring my records?
Yes, if you have them: recent labs, notes from other doctors, and a list of your medications and supplements.
